TALLAHASSEE, Fla., May 1 (UPI) -- The national Powerball lottery has reached a jackpot of $348 million after 17 drawings failed to award a winner.

In January, the jackpot reached a U.S.-record $1.5 billion. Three winning tickets were sold in Chino Hills, Calif.; Munford, Tenn.; and Melbourne Beach, Fla.

The Powerball jackpot hasn't been won since March 2 when a 67-year-old man in Florida claimed the prize of $291.4 million. The next drawing is Wednesday.

In Saturday's drawing the numbers were 3-12-16-32-34 and the Powerball was 14. About 1.3 million people won something -- for a total of $12.8 million, according to the Powerball website. Two tickets matched five numbers and earned $1 million.

This is the 25th largest pot in U.S. lottery history. The lump-sum value is $226.1 million.

The odds of a $2 ticket matching five numbers and the Powerball are about 292 million to 1.

The lottery is conducted in 44 states.
