Law enforcement told WCVB-TV in Boston the tent collapsed when a strong storm moved through Lancaster, N.H. About 250 people were inside at the tent at the time as a performance took place.
WMUR-TV in Manchester, N.H., reported multiple fire departments responded to the scene and the New Hampshire Emergency Operations Center was offering assistance to those who needed it.
The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the region at the time of the incident, though emergency officials haven't released the official cause of the collapse.
The circus was being held at the Lancaster Fair grounds.
