Two dead in Oregon helicopter crash

NEWBERG, Ore., July 2 (UPI) -- Two people died late Wednesday when their helicopter crashed outside Portland, Ore. and touched off a brush fire.

The 2004 Schweizer 269C helicopter crashed south of Newberg, located about 25 miles southwest of Portland. Emergency crews discovered the victims after they extinguished the fire. They have not been identified.

Witnesses told law enforcement they saw the aircraft flying low before the crash. The Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating.
