Plane cleaner arrested, electronics and 1,429 liquor mini-bottles found in home

Stolen computer devices were also found in her home.

NEW YORK, April 27 (UPI) -- A woman employed as an airplane cleaner in New York City was arraigned on charges she stole nearly 1,500 mini-bottles of liquor and more than two dozen electronic devices from planes.

Juanette Cullum, 48, of Brooklyn was arraigned on charges of grand larceny and possession of stolen property, the Queens District Attorney's Office said. Cullum, employed at John F. Kennedy International Airport's Terminal 8 by Air Service Cleaning, is accused of stealing $1,500 in goods from American Airlines planes over three years.

Among the items found in her home were seven iPads, 19 Kindle readers, two laptop computers and 1,429 bottles, typically 50 ml in size, of alcohol, a Port Authority of New York and New Jersey statement said. Police said she made a statement alluding to her alleged theft of property from aircraft she cleaned.

Air Service Cleaning, based in Atlanta, said Cullum had been terminated from her job. She could face up to seven years imprisonment if convicted.
