HOLMDEL TOWNSHIP, N.J., March 31 (UPI) -- Police evacuated an elementary school in northern New Jersey Tuesday after a caller reported a gunman on campus there, authorities said.

Police received the report of an armed intruder at Village Elementary School in Holmdel Township. Details of the report weren't immediately available, but police enlisted the help of a K-9 unit and placed officers on the school's roof.
