MARYSVILLE, Wash., March 31 (UPI) -- The father of a 15-year-old boy suspected of killing four classmates and himself at a high school in Washington was arrested for buying the gun the teen used even though he was restricted from doing so.

Raymond Lee Fryberg, 42, was arrested Tuesday and charged with unlawful possession of firearms.

He is suspected of purchasing the Beretta PX4 Storm his son, Jaylen Fryberg, used in the October shooting at Marysville-Pilchuck High School that resulted in five deaths and an injury to a 14-year-old classmate.

The elder Fryberg was prevented from owning firearms because there was an order of protection against him after he threatened and assaulted his former girlfriend in 2002. He pleaded no contest to violating the order in 2012 and served a year of probation.

Court documents indicate he purchased five firearms between January 2013 and July 2014 from a Cabela's store in Tulalip, Wash. He is accused of lying on the purchasing agreements that he was not under a protection order.
