TULSA, Okla., March 25 (UPI) -- One person died Wednesday after tornadoes passed through much of central and eastern Oklahoma.
A tornado damaged 40 to 60 residences at a mobile home park in Sand Springs, the Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said.
Tulsa World reported one person died at the park and another was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
In addition to damage reported at the mobile home park, several vehicles were overturned along Interstate 35 and a children's gym in Sand Springs also sustained damage. There were no injuries reported at the facility.
A weak tornado also briefly touched down in central Oklahoma near the city of Moore.
The Weather Channel reported softball-sized hail was reported in Tulsa and other areas of Oklahoma.
Outside of Oklahoma, severe thunderstorms swept through Arkansas, southeast Missouri, southern Illinois, western Kentucky and west Tennessee. Severe weather is expected to drop down into north Texas, moving eastward.
Mid-Atlantic states and the Carolinas could also experience high wind gusts as the cold front sweeps eastward.
