DENVER, March 5 (UPI) -- U.S. Airways Flight 445, operated by American Airlines at Denver International Airport, was evacuated Wednesday after the cabin became filled with smoke.

The Airbus A321 from Charlotte, N.C., cleared 158 passengers and six crew members via the emergency slides, soon after landing in Denver at about noon.

"The next thing I know we hear the captain say, 'Disembark.' He said it very quickly and very clearly," one passenger told CBS4. "The flight attendants were awesome, they got us off the plane quickly. It was pretty exciting."

Three minor injuries were reported, one from slipping on ice.

"While taxiing to the gate, the pilot was alerted to possible smoke in the cabin," airline spokeswoman Andrea Huguely said in a statement. "The passengers and crew deplaned via the slides."

Passengers were taken via bus to an airport terminal to retrieve luggage.

Denver Fire Department spokesman, Captain Greg Pixley said an investigation was being conducted.
