By Amy R. Connolly

NEW YORK, Jan. 31 (UPI) -- A New York college student with measles took a nearly two-hour Amtrak train trip from New York City's Penn Station to Bard College, possibly infecting hundreds of travelers along the way, health officials said.

The student traveled on Amtrak train #283, which left Penn Station about 1:20 p.m. on Jan. 25, to get to Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson.

The Dutchess County Department of Health held a measles vaccination clinic for students, faculty and staff who had not been vaccinated against the highly contagious disease. Health officials are urging anyone who traveled on the Amtrak train line between Penn Station and Niagara Falls on that day to contact their physician if they show signs of the disease.

There are now some 91 reported cases of measles in 14 states, with some linked to an outbreak that began at California's Disneyland theme parks. Two cases were in New York City.
