Originally from Thane, India, Minej went missing from the Holland America Line Ryndam cruise ship in which he worked on Dec. 21 as the vessel headed to port in Tampa, Fla.

"It is believed he jumped or fell from the ship near Egmont Key," Clearwater Police said in a news release. The U.S. Coast Guard was unable to find Minej after searching area waters for two days, WPTV reports.

The Pinellas County Medical Examiner's Office ruled the death as accidental.
