NEW YORK, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- U.S. Rep. Michael Grimm, R-N.Y., is likely to plead guilty Tuesday under numerous indictments related to felony tax charges, multiple news outlets reported, citing unnamed sources.

The congressman was indicted in April on 20 charges accusing him of underreporting wages and profits for his chain of Manhattan health-food restaurants, Healthalicious.

Grimm, 44, is accused of concealing about $1 million in gross receipts and hundreds of thousands of dollars in employee wages, paying cash and filing incorrect tax forms.

At least two sources with knowledge of Grimm's case said he plans to plead guilty to the charges Tuesday. His spokesman and chief of staff declined to comment on the case.

Grimm had previously pleaded not guilty to the charges, with a trial scheduled to begin in February.

A plea hearing is scheduled for 1 p.m. Tuesday in a Brooklyn court with Judge Pamela K. Chen.

Despite the charges, Grimm was re-elected in November.

He also made headlines in January when he threatened to toss a New York TV reporter off a balcony. He later apologized.
