MEMPHIS, Dec. 22 (UPI) -- The FBI is warning Memphis, Tenn. police officers there may be an Islamic State plan to blow up the Memphis-Arkansas bridge.

The Memphis division of the FBI claims to have received an anonymous threat saying the Islamic State has instructed someone in the United States to blow up the Memphis-Arkansas I-55 bridge sometime in December.

"According to an anonymous complainant, as of December 2014, ISIS instructed an ISIS member, a presumed [United State person] in Memphis, with a direct order to blow up the Memphis-Arkansas bridge on an unknown date, activating ISIS terror cells in the United States," the warning sent by the FBI reads, according to Fox 13.

"Although we received an anonymous threat, there is no actionable intelligence regarding an attack on the bridge. We take every threat seriously and whenever we receive a threat like this we take steps to inform all of our law enforcement partners," Supervisory Special Agent Joel Siskovic, spokesman for the FBI Memphis Division, told FOX13 News. A local CBS news station has received a similar statement.

Other local news sources are reporting the threat may pertain to the I-40 bridge. Both bridges cross the Mississippi River between Tennessee and Arkansas.
