WASHINGTON, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- A Pennsylvania man found sleeping in a committee room in the Cannon House Office Building in Washington has been charged with trespassing.

John Taddei, 47, from the Philadelphia suburb of Ardmore, was arrested Saturday. Capitol police said they found some bottles of oxycodone in his luggage along with a map of Washington.

So far, Taddei has only been charged with a misdemeanor. His brother-in-law allegedly told police he suffers from mental illness and has substance abuse problems and spends much of his time seeking treatment in cities around the country.

Security cameras captured Taddei entering the office building at about 6:30 p.m. the evening before he was found.

Taddei entered a not guilty plea at his arraignment Saturday, according to Superior Court records.

Taddei has been ordered to get a mental health evaluation before his next court appearance and to stay away from the Cannon building.
