All answers downvoted to oblivion in Reddit AMA with FCC commissioner Mignon Clyburn

The responses would have been treated like spam.

Mignon Clyburn, one of the five commissioners of the Federal Communications Commission, tried and failed at doing a Reddit Ask Me Anything (AMA) Friday.

Typically, important people will do AMAs so fans or supporters can ask the person interesting questions, but the debate over the FCC's looming net neutrality decision reared its head on Reddit when users downvoted all of Clyburn's responses so they couldn't be seen.

Reddit considers certain comments spam if they get downvoted enough, and it hides them, according to The Daily Dot.

Though Clyburn claims she is a big supporter of net neutrality, redditors don't seem to trust her and want the FCC to come out with policies in favor of keeping the internet open. One comment that was not from the commissioner got upvoted over 6,000 times.

It starts: "This AMA looks to me like a political stunt to say something along the lines of, 'Yeah, I went on that interweb thing and talked to the American people! We had discussions about everything from Net Neutrality to Eminem!'" and goes on to call the FCC incompetent and claim that Clyburn's responses were not acceptable.
