ST. LOUIS, Nov. 22 (UPI) -- A Missouri state senator says she was accosted by an armed man who demanded her car Friday night, but that she refused to comply with the suspect.
State Sen. Jamilah Nasheed, a Democrat from Missouri's 5th District, tweeted about the incident as soon as it happened:

— Jamilah Nasheed (@SenatorNasheed) November 22, 2014Police say Nasheed, 41, was approached by a man after parking her car in front of her central west end home in St. Louis around 10:30 p.m. Friday. The man pulled a gun and demanded her keys.
Nasheed told KTVI that she said to the suspect, "I'm not going to give you anything." When he threatened to kill her, Nasheed said, "Well, do what you're going to do." The man then entered the back seat of a vehicle, which sped away.
Police describe the suspect as a 20- to 25-year-old thin black male with a medium brown complexion.
Nasheed, who was arrested during a small peaceful protest in Ferguson, Mo., last month, appeared in a video released Friday in which she advocated passive protesting amid the anticipated results of a grand jury hearing involving the shooting of Michael Brown.
