PHOENIX, Nov. 21 (UPI) -- Thomas Beatie, the so-called "pregnant man" who gave birth to three children after a partial sex change, was arrested Thursday in Phoenix for allegedly stalking his ex-wife.

Thomas Beatie was released from Maricopa County Jail on Friday morning after being charged with one count of stalking an ex.

Police said Thomas Beatie was arrested after an officer noticed a GPS tracking device on the vehicle owned by his ex. Police didn't name the alleged victim, but Thomas Beatie's current fiancé, Amber Beatie, told TMZ the vehicle was owned by his ex-wife, Nancy Beatie.

Amber Beatie said Thomas Beatie legally attached the device to the vehicle two years ago when he owned it, but he had since signed the vehicle over to Nancy.

Police said Thomas Beatie was the only person who had access to monitoring the tracking device. Thomas Beatie allegedly told police he monitored the battery life of the device and would recharge and reattach it to the vehicle when necessary.

Things haven't gone well for the Beaties since their split in 2012.

Thomas Beatie took out a restraining order against Nancy Beatie after accusing her of verbally assaulting him and his new girlfriend.

Thomas Beatie made headlines in 2008 after he announced he was pregnant after having taken testosterone therapy and having breast reconstruction surgery in a female-to-male sexual reassignment. He used artificial insemination to get pregnant before completing the full sex change after Nancy Beatie found out she couldn't have children.

The couple eventually had three children together.
