NEW YORK, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Citigroup banker Shawn Miller was found dead in his Lower Manhattan apartment Tuesday afternoon from a suspected suicide.

Miller's body was found after his partner called the doorman, concerned for his safety after he didn't answer his phone. His wrists were slit and his throat was cut from ear-to-ear.

The death is being investigated as a suicide as the knife was found underneath Miller in the bathtub where his body was discovered. Police also found alcohol and evidence of drug use in his apartment.

He was last seen on a surveillance camera with an unknown man. After the man left, Miller asked that he not be let back in and there was no evidence he returned to the building.

The bank sent a memo to the company informing employees of his death.

"We are deeply saddened by this news and our thoughts are with Shawn's family at this time," said Citigroup in a statement.
