Cecily Strong to perform at 2015 White House Correspondents' dinner

WASHINGTON, Nov. 19 (UPI) -- "Saturday Night Live" cast member Cecily Strong will perform at the 2015 White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, the association announced Wednesday.

Strong has been the co-anchor of the faux news segment "Weekend Update" and started her comedy career in President Barack Obama's hometown of Chicago.

"Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent," WHCA President Christi‎ Parsons said in statement. "In the 82-year history of our dinner, she'll be the fourth woman to serve in this role.‎"

Obama is expected perform his own set of jokes. The White House Correspondents' Association Dinner will take place in April.
