According to Lt. Jody Farabella, Lacy was with a group of children on the porch when she went to check on another child inside. When she came back out, one child was missing.

The child was found in a goldfish pond that was less than a foot deep, police said. They attempted to resuscitate him, but he pronounced dead upon being taken to Inspira Medical Center Vineland.

Farabella said the incident is under investigation, but appears to be accidental. Police have urged parents not to bring their children to the daycare until the investigation is complete.
