FAIRFAX, Va., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- The man accused of abducting and killing University of Virginia student Hannah Graham faced a judge Friday in another case, entering no plea.

Jesse Matthew, 32, will answer to abduction, sexual penetration with an object and attempted capital murder charges for a separate attack involving a 26-year-old woman in Fairfax, Va., who was abducted and raped Sept. 24, 2005, while walking home from a grocery store.

That attack was interrupted by a passerby who called police. The caller didn't see the suspect's face but the victim did, according to the FBI.

That victim has never been identified and is not currently in the United States, a prosecutor said.

Graham's body was found on an abandoned farm Oct. 18. The 18-year-old vanished Sept. 13.

Matthew's attorney James Camblos asked the judge for a psychiatric evaluation of his client. The judge said he would consider that request at a later time.

The FBI reports Matthew may be linked to still another case in which a 20-year-old Virginia Tech student was found dead on a farm. She was last seen hitchhiking outside Charlottesville in October 2009.

Matthew's next scheduled court date in the Fairfax case is Nov. 14.
