LACEY, Wash., Oct. 31 (UPI) -- A baby is back home safe thanks to a 15-year-old Washington state girl and teamwork with her dad.

Camryn Wook was riding in a car with her father, Chad, when she noticed an Amber Alert for a kidnapped baby on her cell phone. She glanced up and spotted a blue Dodge Avenger, the same car described in the alert, just ahead.

"It hit me," Wood told ABC News. "There was a chance that there could be a kid in there. We couldn't let them get away."

Her dad drove close enough to match the license plate on the car with the alert and then followed closely behind while Wood called the police, who took over the chase.

The baby, 18-month-old Mason, was rescued and driver 32-year old Cassandra Wilhelm was arrested. Wilhelm is the little boy's mom, who had snatched him earlier from his father's home, according to cops. Bryan Wilhelm had obtained an order of protection for him and his son against his estranged wife, whom officials described as a schizophrenic and heroin addict.

Wilhelm faces two felony charges for kidnapping and violating the order of protection.

Wood was delighted the baby was safe and credited the "team effort" with her dad.

"I just hope that he can grow up and have a very good life with his dad," she said of Mason.
