WARNING: Video contains explicit language

DALLAS, Oct. 27 (UPI) -- A video shows an apparent homophobic assault on a man at Dallas-Fort Worth airport, with a crowd rushing in to take down the attacker when he threw a kick and punch.

The video shot by a witness to the Thursday incident was uploaded to YouTube. It begins with the attacker at the C30 gate ticket counter taunting the victim for wearing a pink shirt. After exchanging words, the attacker steps back and takes off his jacket, as if preparing for a fight, approaching a man in a black cowboy hat and exchanging words.

As a crowd begins to gather, the man in the cowboy hat asks the attacker what he's upset about.

"Queers is what I'm upset about!" the man tells him loudly. "This [expletive] right here."

He complains that the man in the pink shirt was recording their exchange, and then loudly threatens to assault him sexually with the phone. At that point, he kicks the victim in the groin and throws a punch, which prompts several people, including the man in the cowboy hat, to take him down.

Someone can be heard shouting "no way" and "you ain't doing that [expletive]."

One of the people who took the attacker down, also wearing a pink shirt, appears to break his ankle as the man was taken down.

Two airport police officers handcuffed the attacker, who has yet to be identified by police, according to the Dallas Morning News. He continues to make threats after he's been cuffed, saying "Let me tell you the reason why I did. Because this is America! That's why. The same reason you get to live, to breathe, to walk black." That comment appeared to be directed toward the two black officers handcuffing him, and it drew a gasp from bystanders.

At one point he appears to pass out. The video shows him being taken away back through security.

Airport police confirmed an incident and said the man was arrested, according to WFAA.
