GARY, Ind., Oct. 19 (UPI) -- Police are investigating a man as a possible serial killer after four bodies were found in Northwest Indiana over the weekend.

The man then led police to three other bodies, all women, whom he confessed to killing. The decomposed bodies, including 35-year-old Anith Jones of Merrillville, were found in three different abandoned dwellings in Gary.

Authorities speculate that at least some of the women may have been escorts hired from websites.

Police are investigating whether the man is responsible for more murders in Indiana and Illinois.
