NEW YORK, Oct. 9 (UPI) -- A New York City Fire Department Captain accused of molesting two young boys in Los Angeles is being extradited to L.A. to face charges.
According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office, Wilbert Riera, 51, a 21-year-veteran of the department, was charged with six felony counts of lewd acts on a child under the age of 14.
Riera is being flown to L.A. in the custody of LAPD's Fugitive Task Force to face charges for the alleged crimes which took place in Hollywood, Calif.
He could appear in a L.A. court as early as Thursday.
The alleged molestation took place when Riera was in L.A. Sept 12-14.
Afterwards, he returned to New York and was arrested Sept. 26.
LAPD is still investigating and Riera faces up to life in prison if convicted.
He is currently suspended for 30 days without pay.
