Thousands of bees kill landscaper in Arizona

A massive swarm of 800,000 bees sting and kill a man and critically injure another.

DOUGLAS, Ariz., Oct. 8 (UPI) -- Fire officials in Douglas, Ariz., on Wednesday said a landscaper was killed in a massive bee attack.

According to Tuscon News Now, a swarm of about 800,000 bees attacked and killed the man.

Another man is in critical condition at an area hospital.

Fire investigators said the bees came down from the attic of the home mid-morning on Wednesday and attacked the landscaper.

A beekeeper later came to the home and exterminated the hive and parts of the roof had to be torn off.

The hive is believed to be about 10 years old.
