2 Destrehan High School teachers arrested for sexual misconduct

BATON ROUGE, La., Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Kenner police released the mugshots of two teachers who allegedly had a sexual relationship with a student.

Kenner Police Chief Michael Glaser said Dufresne, 32, and Respess, 24, met with a 16-year-old student after a football game and had group sex on the morning of Sept.13. Former students told police they had been engaging in sexual activity for some time and even taping some of their encounters.

"This Rachel Respess was an English teacher of the victim last school year, so she did have some type of contact and knew him. Shelley Dufresne is his current teacher," said Glaser. "You have an educator, I guess, the responsibility is the safety and education of the children and when it goes outside those lines I believe the community should be outraged."

Dufresne, who is married with three children, is a teacher in her tenth year, reports WGNO.

The two have been charged with carnal knowledge of a juvenile, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile.
