JASPER, Fla., Sept. 27 (UPI) -- A Florida man has been charged with stealing a front end loader and going on a ride that caused tens of thousands in property damage, police say.

The Dubois County Herald reports that police in Jasper, Fla. discovered Korey D. Groover, 29, of Davenport, Fla., lying asleep inside an office suite at Memorial Hospital clinic early Thursday. Groover had gained access to the building by crashing through a glass door with a Bobcat front end loader, which was visible in front of the clinic. It was the end of a bleary rampage that caused $9,800 in property damage.

Just past 2 a.m., Jasper police had first received reports of the Bobcat being driven down the street, knocking over light poles and signs. By the time they made it to the area, they discovered Groover inside the clinic.

Groover was taken into custody without incident. He had marijuana in his system, a syringe in his pocket and a blood-alcohol concentration of .18 percent.

In Florida, anyone with a blood-alcohol concentration of .08 percent is considered intoxicated by law.

Groover told officers that he couldn't remember anything after leaving a local bar known as JR's.
