FERGUSON, Mo., Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Five people were arrested and St. Louis County, Mo., police officers were pelted with rocks Tuesday night after protests flared again in Ferguson, Mo.

Some protesters said they were demonstrating because they believe someone vandalized a memorial set up in honor of Michael Brown, the teen who was shot dead by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson on Aug. 9.

The memorial was found burning earlier Tuesday.

"We know it wasn't an accident. You know how many people live over there that seen it from the beginning? I mean it's just a big 'ole flame. You could tell the way it was set," one protester told KSDK-TV, St. Louis.

Police haven't said what specifically the five people -- including one juvenile -- were arrested for.

At one point, officers were pelted with rocks and one sustained an injury below the eye. Police also received reports of shots fired and looting.

Ferguson fire officials said a small fire was set at the Whistle Stop store on Carson Road.
