During a Tuesday night news conference, Charlottesville Police Chief Timothy Longo said, "We reached that point that the Commonwealth felt we had probable cause to seek an arrest warrant."

With this charge, Matthew now becomes a suspect in the 18-year-old's disappearance.

Graham vanished more than a week ago on her way home from a party. Video has been released showing the teen at an open-air mall and walking in front of a convenience store.

Chief Longo said investigators are still waiting for information to come back after police searched Matthew's home for a second time Monday.

During that search police removed the specific clothing they were looking for along with three bags of evidence.

A $50,000 reward has also been offered for any information leading to discovery of the missing student.
