2 killed when a tour bus crashes in Delaware

One of the women killed in a tour bus crash in Delaware was trapped under the bus when it overturned.

NEW CASTLE, Del., Sept. 22 (UPI) -- One woman was killed and a second mortally injured when a tour bus returning to New York from a trip to Washington overturned in Delaware.

Everyone on board the bus, including the driver and 47 other passengers, was hurt, Delaware State Police said. Some were hospitalized, and a few were initially listed in critical condition.

The bus was on an exit ramp in New Castle when the driver lost control Sunday afternoon. The bus left the road and turned over, sliding down an embankment.

The dead women were identified as Hua'y Chen, of New York City, 54, who was trapped under the bus, and Idil Bahsi, 30, of Istanbul, who died at the Christiana Hospital Trauma Center.

The driver, Jinli Zhao of New York, was treated for minor injuries. He had not been charged with anything Monday morning as police continued to investigate the crash.

The passengers were no a three-day trip to Washington offered by E World Travel and Tours of New York. The bus was owned by AM USA Express, also of New York.
