WASHINGTON, Sept. 21 (UPI) -- Chelsea could be within the last week and a half of her pregnancy, her father, former President Bill Clinton, hinted Sunday.

Chelsea Clinton and her husband, Marc Mezvinsky, have been pretty tight-lipped about the pregnancy since it was announced in April.

But proud grandfather-to-be Bill Clinton may have let a little news slip.

"I hope by the first of October, I'll be a grandfather," he said during an appearance on CNN's Global Public Square.

"I can't wait," he added. "We're on watch now."

Chelsea and Marc are waiting until the baby's birth to find out its gender.
