Police closing in on suspect in Pennsylvania state trooper killing

Police in Pennsylvania say they are closing in on Eric Matthew Frein, the man who is wanted for killing a state trooper.

CANADENSIS, Pa., Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Police in Pennsylvania said Friday night they think they are closing in on the man wanted in the shooting death of a state trooper.

According to CNN police have surrounded a home where they think Eric Matthew Frein is hiding.

The home is not far from Frien's family home in the Poconos Mountains.

Police have also reportedly exchanged gunfire with a man believed to be Frein.

State Police are also asking residents of Price and Barrett Townships to stay inside their homes, stay away from window and not travel in the area.

An intense manhunt as been underway for the last week since investigators say Frien shot and killed Cpl. Byron Dickson.

Dickson was ambushed outside the Pennsylvania State Police barracks.

Frien was added to the FBI's Most Wanted Fugitive List on Thursday.
