LONG BEACH, Calif., Sept. 18 (UPI) -- A JetBlue passenger jet made an emergency landing back at its airport of departure in Long Beach, Calif., after the cabin filled with smoke.
Flight 1416 took off from Long Beach Airport around 9:15 a.m. en route to Austin, Texas. Shortly after, a warning signal indicated the engines were overheating, Long Beach Airport officials said.
The Airbus A320 returned back to the airport of origin and made an emergency landing.
Passenger Jackson Rathbone tweeted that the cabin filled with smoke.

Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jake Helfin told the Los Angeles Times the pilot "initiated an extinguishing agent" in response to the smoke.
The 142 passengers and five crew members were evacuated from the plane by emergency slides after landing. Heflin said four people sought medical attention, including one who sustained an injury from the slide and another who had shortness of breath.
