"God gave me a moment with my mother remembering who I was," Gunderson wrote on YouTube. "Plus i am an identical twin which makes [her recognition] even more special."

ATLANTA, Sept. 2 (UPI) -- A video showing an elderly Alzheimer's patient's brief moment of clarity with her daughter is inspiring viewers around the Internet and the Alzheimer's community.

When Kelly Gunderson first climbs into what appears to be her mother's hospital bed, the 87-year-old is unsure of her daughter's identity.

"You act like my momma," remarks Gunderson's mother before recalling her daughter.

Although articulate and seemingly coherent, Gunderson's mother needed some coaxing to get through the conversation until, to Gunderson's surprise and delight, the white-haired woman begins to remember the finer details of their relationship.

Gunderson's mother recalls her first name without prompt, then discusses naming her "Kelly" as Gunderson tears up with joy. She even discusses what it's like to realize she's forgotten someone so significant, and the fear associated with long-term memory loss.

"When I have some fears, I get here and I'm thinking 'My Lord, what in the world am I thinking?"

"God gave me a moment with my mother remembering who I was," Gunderson wrote on YouTube. "Plus i am an identical twin which makes [her recognition] even more special."

Uploaded Sunday, the video already has nearly 1.5 million views on YouTube.
