BREMERTON, Wash., Aug. 11 (UPI) -- A 17-year-old who lived in the same Bremerton, Wash., mobile home park has been charged with killing 6-year-old Jenise Wright.

The teenager was arrested Saturday, Detective Lt. Earl Smith of the Kitsap County Sheriff's Office. He faces charges that include second-degree murder, manslaughter and the rape of a child.

Forensic evidence tied the 17-year-old to the killing, Wilson said.

Wright's parents said they last saw her Aug. 2 when she went to bed. They did not report her missing until late the next night, saying she frequently wandered off to play in the Steele Creek Mobile Home Park.

Her body was found in a ravine nearby Thursday.

"There's a lot of grief," Wilson said.

The teenager, like more than 100 other residents of the park, voluntarily provided a DNA sample. The state police lab remained open round the clock, processing the samples.

The suspect was scheduled for a court appearance Monday afternoon.

"We're just wrapping everything up," Wilson said Sunday. "There's still a lot to do, but now the focus is just dotting all of our I's and crossing all of our T's and handing the case off to prosecutors."
