Funeral Monday for Conn. teen killed in Long Island Sound

GREENWICH, Conn., Aug. 10 (UPI) -- A Greenwich, Conn., high school student who died in a boating accident in Long Island Sound will be buried Monday.

Emily Fedorko, 16, died Wednesday afternoon after the boat pulling her and another girl on an inner tube stopped suddenly and she crashed into the propeller.

A wake for Emily was scheduled for Sunday afternoon at Bosak Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial is set for 11 a.m. ET Monday at St. Clement Church in Stamford, Conn., with interment to follow at Putnam Cemetery in Greenwich.

The teen's death was the first boating fatality in Greenwich in more than 20 years, officials said.

The other girl in the accident was seriousl injured.
