TURLOCK, Calif., Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A California man stabbed his parents before setting a fire that caused his own death and his disabled brother's, investigators say.

The bodies of Rozmary Babakhan, 70, ad Sarkis Babakhan, 78, and their sons, Rodney Bowman, 39, and Robert Babakhan, 42, were found June 26 in their home in Turlock, a city in central California. Investigators said they had all been dead for some time when a worried realtive went to the house.

Police Lt. Nino Amirfar said detectives have determined that Bowman, who had changed his name from Radni Babakhan, killed his parents and started the fire. The blaze burned out before anyone in the neighborhood noticed the house was on fire.

Bowman and his brother died from inhaling smoke and toxic fumes. Amirfar said Bowman may not have intended to kill himself or his brother.

The investigation is over, Amirfar said. Detectives did not come up with a motive.

"That's something we may never know – why," Amirfar said.
