PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- A 46-year-old woman was found dead in a Philadelphia park Tuesday morning, after police believe she may have been strangled.

Around 6 a.m. Tuesday, a woman walking her dog found the body of 46-year-old Connie McClain-Murray in Northeast Philadelphia's Pennypack Park. The dog walker did not have a cellphone, and had to signal a passing bus driver to contact police.

Police believe McClain-Murray, who was born with only one arm, left her home to take a jog at 9 p.m. on Monday. After hours of waiting for her to return home, McClain-Murray's husband called the police and reported her missing at roughly 2 a.m Tuesday morning.

Her body was soon discovered near a cemetery and a baseball field in Pennypack Park.

"She always seemed very nice and she always had a smile on her face," Nadine Meehan, a member at McClain-Murray's pool, recalled to 6 ABC. "I can't believe this happened honestly. She always seemed like such a nice a person."

Police are releasing little information about the death at the moment, but local reports say there were signs of a struggle. McClain-Murray appears to have been strangled, and police are investigating the possibility she was sexually assaulted.

"If anyone saw her jogging, or if anyone knows anything, heard anything, they should give us a call," urged Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey.
