$50,000 of marijuana stolen from Seattle dispensary

SEATTLE, Aug. 6 (UPI) -- Police in Seattle are search for a team of thieves who carved a hole in a wall of a local medical marijuana dispensary in order to steal $50,000 worth of pot.

Police were called to the scene around 6:50 a.m. to find a large hole in one of the walls and marijuana buds haphazardly strewn on the ground. The robbery is believed to have occurred late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning, as the dispensary closed for the day without incident the night before the crime scene was discovered.

The business owner said he believes the criminals entered through the hole and successfully made off with $50,000 of medical marijuana.

Evidence technicians recovered fingerprints and other evidence from the scene and have obtained security footage from the dispensary and neighboring businesses.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Seattle police.
