OKOBOJI, Iowa, Aug. 5 (UPI) -- A fundraiser in Iowa got heated when two "dreamers" approached Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., and Rep. Steve King, R-Iowa, to confront the politicians about defunding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.

Paul and King were eating when Erika Andiola and Cesar Vargas approached them. They shook hands when Andiola introduced herself as a "dreamer." Paul suddenly lost interest in his sandwich and quickly removed himself from the scene. King's conversation with Andiola and Vargas quickly became heated.

Andiola said that she was brought to the United States from Mexico as a child and has a bachelor's degree from Arizona State University. She handed King her business card and said if he takes away her DACA, he'll take away everything she has accomplished. King handed the card back to her and tried to explain his position.

"You're very good at English," he said while grabbing her hand. "You can understand the English language, so don't play with it."

"I scolded drug smugglers. Now you're not a drug smuggler, are you?" King asked. Andiola confirmed she was not a drug smuggler.

Vargas, who came to the U.S at the age of 5, told King he wanted to serve in the military after 9/11, but couldn't because he was not a citizen. He also mentioned that the first American casualty in the war was an undocumented immigrant. King has been vocal about his support of deporting "dreamers" who want to join the military.

The person filming the video was asked to stop, but continued recording, saying, "This is my representative."

King reiterated his stance saying that just because both of their parents fled violence to come to the United States does not exempt them, or their children, from being criminals.
