SAN DIEGO, July 30 (UPI) -- San Diego police have arrested a 29-year-old man in connection with an underage female cosplayer found unconscious after being allegedly beaten and sexually assaulted near San Diego Comic-Con.

The victim was reportedly dressed as Roger Rabbit and was last seen Saturday with a group of friends before a "disagreement" caused them to part ways. She was later found unconscious and bloody on the side of the road after 1 a.m. Sunday morning, prompting her family and friends to reach out to the cosplay and Comic-Con communities for help.

"One of my dearest friends was found on the side of the road, unconscious and bloody," wrote one of the victim's friends.

"She was last seen with friends when she ran off after a disagreement ... This isn't okay and it's sickening to know that this happened at a place people truly can enjoy themselves."

The victim's mother quickly put out a similar call and just after 11 a.m. Sunday the San Diego police arrested a man at a hotel near Comic-Con, charging him with sexual contact with a minor and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
