FORKED RIVER, N.J., July 26 (UPI) -- A New Jersey family, many of whom lost their homes during Superstorm Sandy, won $20.1 million in the lottery.

The 17 family members plan to split the winnings from the $1 quick pick Pick-6 Lotto ticket one of them purchased in Forked River.

The family has a lottery pool it started in 2004 after the family matriarch, Flossie Clark-Endreson, died. She played the lottery for years and her family wanted to keep the tradition going in her memory.

Some of the family members, ranging in age from 53 to 76, lost their homes nearly two years ago during Superstorm Sandy.

"It couldn't have come at a better time, it really couldn't," the family's spokesperson Marie McHenry, said. We're just thrilled that we can help our family members and churches. ... Hooray! That's what I say. It's a good thing at a good time."

"You just can't even imagine the feeling. I think I just went into instant shock," said one of the siblings, Faith Schibor, of learning about the lottery win. "Everyone's really hurting, and this is going to help everyone. And it's going to help Ocean County, because most of us still live there."
