WASHINGTON, July 8 (UPI) -- Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin compared President Obama to an abusive husband, calling for his impeachment on Breitbart.com.

Palin said Obama's failure to deal with immigration should be the last straw.

"Enough is enough of the years of abuse from this president," she said. "His unsecured border crisis is the last straw that makes the battered wife say, 'no mas.'"

Palin resigned as governor of Alaska seven months after her unsuccessful run for vice president in 2008.

In her Breitbart piece, Palin charged that Obama's immigration policy has hurt the economy by bringing in people who take jobs that would otherwise be held by citizens and by overloading welfare rolls.

"Because of Obama's purposeful dereliction of duty an untold number of illegal immigrants will kick off their shoes and come on in, competing against Americans for our jobs and limited public services," she said.

She concluded with a call for impeachment: "It's time to impeach; and on behalf of American workers and legal immigrants of all backgrounds, we should vehemently oppose any politician on the left or right who would hesitate in voting for articles of impeachment."
