37-year-old Susan Bachman was being driven by her parents to a psychiatric center on July 4 to be voluntarily admitted for depression and anxiety, when she forced her way from the vehicle, leaping onto the highway and fleeing into nearby woods.
Search and rescue teams combed the area with dogs and helicopters for hours, but were only able to find Bachman's wallet and cellphone in an abandoned barn. She has not been heard from since.
"We are obviously incredibly concerned about my sister, we miss her and we are incredibly concerned about her and we are deeply hopeful that she has found shelter somewhere," Bachman brother Will told ABC News.
"My sister may be using an assumed name, she may be making up a story about her identity, she is potentially a risk to herself."
According to police, Bachman is 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighs roughly 120 pounds. She has red hair and green eyes and was last seen wearing a blue flannel shirt and blue jeans.
Will Bachman created FindSusanBachman.com to help spread the word about his missing sister and give those with potential information direct access to the family.
"We really want our daughter back," Bachman's mother Nancy pleaded in a video statement with her husband William.
"If you know where she is and you have contact with her please tell her that we love her and want her back very much."
