HOUSTON, June 22 (UPI) -- A father and daughter pair chased down three men who allegedly stole from the family's home in Houston, police said.

A plastic surgeon and his daughter, the names of whom weren't reported, were driving home Friday when they spotted three burglars leaving their home, KHOU reported.

The father told his daughter, who was driving, to follow the men while he recorded the chase on his cell phone.

Realizing they were being followed, the burglars backed up into the Audi the man and woman were in. The burglars crashed their vehicle into the Audi a second time, sending them into a nearby ditch, at which point police arrested two of the three men. The third suspected burglar got away.

Police don't recommend victims chase down suspected criminals like this father and daughter did, but the father said he'd do it again if he needed to.

"I'm tired of these people taking advantage of us," he said. "We're not going to tolerate it anymore in our neighborhood."

The daughter was treated for whiplash at a local hospital and released. They were able to recover their stolen belongings.
