NEW YORK, June 15 (UPI) -- A Massachusetts mother of two said her 3-year-old urinated in her seat on a delayed flight from New York to Boston.

Jennifer Deveraux, a photographer from Newton, Mass., said her JetBlue Flight 518 was on the tarmac for 30 minutes when her daughter, Summer, said she needed to go to the toilet.

"We hadn't taken off yet so I asked the flight attendant if she could quickly use the bathroom," Deveraux told WCVB. "The flight attendant snapped back at me, 'No, sit down.' I sat down immediately. I was pretty shocked."

Deveraux said that she argued with the flight attendant, though Summer was eventually forced to urinate in her seat. When she got up to clean the mess, the flight attendant yelled at her again.

"No one offered to bring my anything to help clean it up. I took the sweater off my body and soaked up the mess with my clothes," Deveraux added.

The flight attendant eventually contacted the pilot about a "non-compliant passenger," prompting the flight crew to start turning back to the gate.

Deveraux said their flight only turned around when an off-duty pilot argued with the crew on her behalf.

"I want an apology and I don't want them to do this to any other family," Deveraux said of her official complaint with JetBlue. "I want this behavior to be stopped."

JetBlue initially responded to complaints about the incident on Twitter, citing "very strict FAA regulations."

Deveraux said that the airline apologized to her on Saturday and offered her a $50 credit and $5000 donation to charity of her choice.
