DENVER, June 2 (UPI) -- Jack Elway, the son of former NFL quarterback John Elway, was arrested Saturday for assault and disturbing the peace, police said.

John Albert Elway III -- who goes by the name Jack -- allegedly assaulted a woman at West Colfax Avenue and Lipan Street in Denver.

The woman told the Auraria Campus Police Department that Elway pushed her out of a moving vehicle. Sources familiar with the incident said the woman had no visible injuries.

Police arrested Elway at a Cherry Hills Village address listed to John Elway. He was released Saturday on $550 bail.

"This is a personal family matter, and the Broncos will not have any additional comment on it," said Broncos spokesman Patrick Smyth.

The younger Elway lives in Newport Beach, Calif., according to his Facebook account. He is scheduled to appear in court June 5.
