WASHINGTON, May 30 (UPI) -- President Obama says that if first lady Michelle Obama ever said she planned to seek political office he would assume she had been replaced by an alien.
In an interview aired Friday on ABC, the president talked about the VA scandal. But he also discussed his family and was asked how he would react if the First Lady did decide, 10 years down the road, to stand for office herself.
"I would say, 'Where did you take my wife?' I would be sure there had been an alien body snatching going on," Obama answered. "One thing I can promise you, Michelle will not run for office."
Obama said he and Michelle have much in common with other parents, finding it "jarring" to see Malia wearing high heels for her first prom. But he said his biggest loss when he became president was anonymity.
"I'd just walk out this gate; I might walk out to the Lincoln Memorial, sit out there, wander around, find myself at a little outdoor cafe and watch people go by," Obama said when he was asked if he could do whatever he wanted without being recognized and without a Secret Service escort.
