JUPITER, Fla., May 30 (UPI) -- Florida police are investigating a woman who allegedly killed the 2-year-old daughter of her ex-partner after hearing a Bible verse on child sacrifice.

Kymberley Dawn Lucas is in jail after allegedly killing 2-year-old Elliana and attempting to kill her 10-year-old brother Ethan. According to the police report, Lucas and Ethan attended Metropolitan Community Church the day before the attack, where they heard Pastor Lea Brown deliver a sermon on Genesis 22.

Genesis 22:2 is the verse in the Bible where God said to Abraham, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

Police saw a note left on Lucas' computer related to the sermon.

"It's what I was called to do, there's no way anyone could have predicted this," said Brown on whether she regretted the sermon. She also said the family of the toddler are in good hands.
