LAFAYETTE, Ind., May 21 (UPI) -- When 5-year-old Brayden Denton lost his battle with cancer, his family decided to hold a funeral that would truly celebrate his fighting spirit.
Brayden, who passed away May 8, always loved superheroes, especially Spider-Man. So when it came time to plan his funeral, his mother decided to make a gesture Brayden would have loved.
Pallbearers dressed up in six superhero costumes, including Spider-Man, Iron Man, Thor, The Hulk, Superman and Batman. "The whole time I saw them carrying Brayden he was probably up there going, 'This is so cool,'" Brayden's mom, Staci, told the New York Daily News. "That was his world. That's what he would have wanted."
She wore a Spider-Man t-shirt to the funeral.

"I was sad, of course. It was the last day that I was going to see my boy," Staci said. "But then all I could think of was that he is looking down thinking, 'This is so cool.'"
"It was hard, but I did it for him," said Brayden's uncle, Cory Denton. "We went to the Superman movie with him and he was dressed up as Superman. I watched all the Ironmans with him.
"He's always here with me, and I'll always watch them with him because he is always with me," Cory added.
Brayden died of DIPG, a incurable form of brain cancer. Staci's mom, who donated her son's tumor to research, has been working with DIPG collaborative to raise awareness of the disease.
